St
Lucia
St Lucia
is the jewel of the Windward Islands. A beautiful island
with an interesting blend of Creole, British and French
history, St Lucia is located between Martinique to the
north, and St Vincent to the south. The people are warm
and friendly and the limin’ pace of life, hard
to resist.
A mountainous
and lush island, rich with tropical rain forest, St
Lucia is home to many natural wonders, including the
twin volcanic peaks, The Pitons. These magnificent mountains
rise spectacularly 2000 feet out of the water. Enjoy
lunch at the Dasheene Restaurant at Ladera….or
pick up a mooring ball in the bay at Jalousie to really
appreciate The Pitons in all their magnificence. There
is superb snorkelling to be had just off the beach at
Jalousie, or you can arrange to go scuba diving.

 |
St
Lucia is home to the world’s only ‘drive-thru’
volcano and visitors can relax in the rejuvenating
springs at Diamond Baths, just outside Soufriere.
Inland, the rain forests hide the secrets of many
rare plants and birds, including the notoriously
shy St Lucian parrot.
With
many sandy, palm fringed beaches from which to
choose, tours of historical sites (plantation
houses, sugar mills and the rum factory) and more
active adventures (including quad biking, horse
riding and golf) you will never be bored. But
if you want to up the pace, there are several
superb restaurants, bars and nightclubs as well
as the unforgettable experience of ‘jump-up’
every Friday night in Gros Islet, Rodney Bay. |
|
 |
| St
Lucia has many spectacular reefs and is a great environment
for both beginners and more experienced divers.
Please
enquire for information about arranging a dive course. |

Rodney
Bay
The new IGY Rodney Bay marina is extremely impressive
and well serviced. As well as providing full security,
there is WiFi, all dock services and a supermarket ashore.
Marigot
Bay
Marigot Bay is discreet and tranquil and arguably one
of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean. There are
a number of excellent restaurants closeby, a spa, boutiques
and supermarket. The marina also offers WiFi, 24hr security
and dock services.
Both Rodney
Bay and Marigot Bays are ports of entry. |
 |
| St
Lucia enjoys a tropical climate throughout the year. The
average daily temperatures of 80°F (27°C) tend
to be cooled by the constant trade winds. December - May
is the driest and coolest time. The rainy season is June
- November and hurricane season traditionally runs from
1st June – 1st December. September tends to be the
hottest and most humid month. |
 |
The
main international airport is Hewanorra (UVF) in the
south of the island. It takes approximately 11/2 hrs
to drive to the north of the island to Rodney Bay Marina
or one hour to Marigot Bay Marina.
There is
another airport (SLU) just outside Castries, the capital.
